Will do OK in poor soil, prefers well drained loam

Position

Full sun to light shade

Frost tolerant

Hardy when established.

Feeding

Mix a light application of a balanced organic fertiliser into the soil prior to planting

Spacing

Single Plants: 12cm (4") each way (minimum)
Rows: 12cm (4") with 15cm (5") row gap (minimum)

Sow and Plant

Sow seeds in autumn and spring. Avoid excessively hot or cold periods for sowing. Flax seedings are only frost tolerant to about -3°C (27°F)

Harvesting

Harvest ripe seeds just before they shatter. Flowers and leaves are edible. Flowers attract beneficial insects
