Zone 1 garden. I have laid ground cloth, (soon to be wood chips) between all of the beds, so I don't have to mow! The wood chips will greatly reduce the current tripping hazards.as the entire garden is on a slope. The beds are laid on countour with the paths acting as swales for water retention. I use no pesticides or comercial fertilizers. I do add organic matter, sea weed from the property, Active Air Compost Tea, and wood chips (for mulch).
