Greenhouse Garden
Garden is off back of house between driveway leading to upper acreage, back deck, and greenhouse along lawn to the pool area.
Gates are located coming into the garden from the lawn, greenhouse, driveway, and deck. One large gate from driveway allows tractor dumping of compost from bin at upper acreage.
Garden is entirely fenced by 4ft fence that matches the pool garden fencing.
Need irrigation installed for raised bed areas.
Arches are cattle panel arches. Arbors are permanent wood structures.
Raised beds are listed as brick but can be whatever we choose.
Herb circle in center of garden in snail-like pattern.
Raised wooden beds are from Tractor Supply and are multifunctional as planters, potting benches, or seed hardening off areas, already located on property.
Tower planters are Greenstalk planters currently on property.
Obelisk can be whatever garden structure/art we choose.
10x10 concrete patio in front of greenhouse is covered by a permanent wooden pergola that can be tied into stabilizing structure for the greenhouse. This is a seating area, can have potted plants, and can hold wind chimes, hanging baskets, etc.
Shed (3x6, preferably cedar), water collector, and spigot with timer are all located outside the fence along the top of the garden. Situating them outside the area allows for more planting space. Composting tumbler ideally kept nearer to house for kitchen scraps. Secondary spigot inside garden beside greenhouse and concrete walkway along back of house. Third spigot off outside corner of greenhouse beside lawn with water spigot also inside greenhouse.
Greenhouse is currently powered by electric, would like to convert to solar. Needs proper fan vents and airflow additions. Would ideally like for greenhouse to be attached to wooden frame inside which will stabilize structure and provide shelves for plants/seed starts.
Prefer use of cedar in construction of shelving inside greenhouse, arbors, pergola, shed, etc. Basically as much as possible.
Need shade fabric for over outside of greenhouse.
Perennial plants along driveway are currently jasmine vines.
Lemon and lime are potted on pallets and easily moveable to the greenhouse.
Roses are Joseph's Coat climbing roses over one arbor. Need two different roses for second arbor. Perennials are roses, blackberries, raspberries, blueberries, vine along one fence and container lemon/lime.
Beds mostly contain annual herbs, flowers, and food, some of which may volunteer/reseed. Melon is personal size melon of choice. Plox is used to line walkways in some areas.
Plenty of spaces to tuck in bee/butterfly attracting plants including borage, sunflower, milkweed. Would ideally like butterfly bush on outside of fenced area, indicated by fruit bush icon.
Spring bulbs will be planted around base of herb circle: snowdrops/daffodils are good choices and can be relocated from other areas on the property. Some red spider lilies would be pretty as well.
Potentially grow dwarf container fig in one raised bed near the pergola area but if not, maybe a small rose or other perennial.
